The town of Oakville, located between Rutherford and Yountville and encompassing only 1.4 square miles of land, is home to some of the most prestigious wineries in the world including Opus One Winery (pictured above), Screaming Eagle, and Robert Mondavi. With a total population of only 71 people, the local economy is based on Napa Valley wine production.

Within the boundaries of the Oakville AVA are 24 wineries and over 5,000 acres of vineyard. Oakville is known for its scenic countryside, the famous To Kalon vineyards, and of course, one of our favorite roadside stops, Oakville Grocery (pictured left), where you'll find everything from artisan cheeses and breads to salads, soups and made-to-order sandwiches.
